73 percent of labor disputes in Saudi Arabia resolved

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has said that the work of the Conciliation Department to resolve labor disputes in Saudi Arabia is successful. The ministry also stated that 73 percent of labor disputes were settled amicably last year.

A special scheme called Vudi or friendship has been implemented to protect the rights of workers and employers. Those who wish to attempt conciliation can file a complaint online. Notwithstanding this, disputes will be resolved within five working days.

An opportunity has also been provided to the complainant and the opposite party to participate in the interlocutory conversation through video conference without visiting the office. The sympathy department is able to reach an amicable settlement between the two parties.

Complaints that cannot be resolved are usually submitted to the Labor Court after 21 working days, the ministry said.
