The SRC summarized the results of the “Tax Administration and Tax Perceptions” survey, which was conducted among 532 entrepreneurs.

86.5 percent of the respondents, as a motive for paying taxes honestly, did not mention the fear of further tax control, but the desire to contribute to state building as a citizen.

It was also found out from the surveys that taxpayers have different attitudes towards spending directions of state revenues, considering defense, education, and health care sectors to be the priority.

It is noteworthy that the surveys conducted by the initiative of the State Revenue Committee and with the support of the World Bank show that taxpayers, in general, positively evaluate the activities of the tax authority and the services provided.

More than 72% of respondents expressed satisfaction with the tax administration reforms implemented so far. According to the report, however, some areas still need improvement. Emphasizing the results of the research, the presented recommendations and observations are taken into account in the strategic development plans of the State Revenue Committee and further reforms.

In the near future, the World Bank will initiate a similar study in the customs sector as well. Surveys will be conducted here among the participants of foreign economic activity, considering freight forwarders and customs brokers as a separate target group.
