Nine new ministers took office in Sri Lanka today. Mahinda Rajapaksa, the next prime minister in the wake of the severe economic crisis, and his ministers have resigned.
Following this, Ranil Wickremesinghe became the Prime Minister. Nine members of his cabinet, including Kekilia Rambukwella, Nalin Fernando, Nimal Siripala de Silva and Sushil Premajayantha, were sworn in in the presence of President Gotabhaya.
