45 thousand crores of financial assistance to Ukraine

Japan’s Prime Minister Bumio Kishida has announced that he will provide 5.5 billion US dollars (about Rs. 45 thousand 487 crores) in financial assistance to Ukraine as Russia’s war against Ukraine is about to complete one year.

Speaking at a global forum held in Tokyo, he said, “Ukraine is still suffering under the Russian invasion. The people of Ukraine, who have been badly affected by the Russian attacks, need help to rebuild their daily lives and infrastructure. Therefore, Japan is providing $5.5 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine. It also marks the end of a year of war.” Accordingly, I have decided to hold the G-7 Summit on the 24th with the participation of Ukrainian President Zelensky,” he said.
