Morocco’s Human Development Efforts Highlighted in New York

The efforts undertaken by Morocco in terms of human development were highlighted, in New York on the occasion of the 67th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67), by the wali-national coordinator of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), Mohamed Dardouri.

During his talks with the delegations participating in this conclave, the work of which continues until March 17, Mr. Dardouri underlined that the promotion of the rights of women and girls are at the heart of the objectives of the INDH. In this context, he reviewed the large-scale projects and initiatives undertaken within the framework of the INDH intended mainly to promote the condition of women in the various provinces of the Kingdom.

The Wali-national coordinator of the INDH, who is part of the official delegation of Morocco to this UN high mass held under the theme “Innovation and technological evolution and education in the digital age for the purpose of achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”, also highlighted the role and contribution of women in the development dynamics that the Kingdom is experiencing in various fields.

The Moroccan delegation is made up in particular of the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family, Aawatif Hayar and representatives of ministerial departments and civil society.

The 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women is attended by representatives of Member States, United Nations entities and non-governmental organizations accredited by the United Nations Economic and Social Council from all regions of the world.

For two weeks, the debates sift through the problems to be solved and the opportunities to be exploited on the road to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in rural areas.
