The Hutchinson group has just expanded its activities in Morocco with the inauguration, Wednesday, March 15, in Bouskoura, of a new workshop dedicated to the manufacture of composite aeronautical parts and cabin insulation solutions for aeronautics.

Present in 25 steps, Hutchinson is a world leader in its aerospace, automotive, defense and industrial markets in technologies for vibration control, fluid management and sealing systems.

The extension of its site in Casablanca “confirms Hutchinson’s desire to establish itself permanently in Morocco”, declared the group’s president and general manager, Hélène Moreau-Leroy.

Carried out over an area of ​​18,700 m2, this extension will support the growth of aeronautical activities in Morocco, group officials said during a ceremony marked by the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Kingdom of Morocco. , Ryad Mezzour.

Strategic for its aeronautical activities, as Hélène Moreau-Leroy pointed out in her statement, this 4.0 implementation allows the group to respond as closely as possible to the expectations and needs of its customers.

The new site also makes it possible to consolidate Hutchinson’s production capacities on the Boeing B787 / B777 and Airbus A330 / A220 programs from 2023, it was reported.

During this ceremony, which was also attended by some privileged Hutchison customers, including Wendy Cronie, Senior Director, BCA Supply Chain Operations, Raw Materials and Standards at Boeing, group officials also indicated that this site “is qualified to the latest standards of the largest aeronautical contractors with state-of-the-art equipment, allowing the manufacture of composite structural parts of high criticality as well as a very wide variety of insulation systems among the most successful in the world.

According to the explanations of the managers of the group, which employs 40,000 people in 25 countries, “heavy investments include three latest generation autoclaves, a clean room, several very large numerically controlled machines”.

These investments also include “an automated storage tower and a 3D scanner to digitally model the manufactured parts to ensure their geometric conformity,” they continued.

As part of the trajectory of the group’s commitments in terms of sustainable development, the new production workshop required an investment of 166 million dirhams (MDH).

This site allows the creation of more than 400 jobs. And as assured by the CEO of the Hutchinson group, “we know we can count on a solid skills network and a quality training offer thanks to the involvement of the Moroccan authorities and the partnership with the Institut des aeronautics (IMA)”.
