After being on the run for 12 years, Haji Solaiman (65), a fugitive JMB member belonging to Jamalpur’s Motherganj, has been arrested. He was sent to jail after being produced in the court on Wednesday (June 7) afternoon under tight security.
Son of deceased Sharif Uddin Bepari of Guda Shimulia area of Charpakerdah Union of Solaiman Upazila.
According to police sources, in 2011, the police filed an explosive case against Solaiman in Mymensingh court as the plaintiff. He is a warrant accused in that case. After that he went into hiding and was living under different identities in different parts of the country for 12 years. Later, on the basis of secret information, Dhaka’s Anti-Terrorism Police Unit and Motherganj Thana Police were able to arrest him in Kapasia area of Dhaka on Tuesday (June 6) night.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Motherganj Model Police Station Mahbubul Haque said that he was arrested last night after being on the run for a long time. When he was sent to court this afternoon, the judge sent him to jail.
