To face the new security and humanitarian challenges, the need to find and propose sufficiently innovative solutions and adaptation strategies is essential. The search for these solutions led to the setting up of a scientific seminar with a view to drawing up a roadmap.

According to Pr Adjima Thiombiano, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, who is also sponsor of the seminar, the 72 hours of work will make it possible to lay the foundations for a return to peace and reconciliation, a guarantee of an improvement in living together.

« We are asked, among other things, during this seminar to propose the appropriate form and means of communication on the reconciliation process for the support and commitment of the populations to the restoration of peace in Burkina Faso; To adapt our reconciliation process to consolidate social cohesion and live together in a context of complex crisis; To find strategies for a real disengagement and disarmament of the sons and daughters of Burkina Faso, members of armed terrorist groups; To clarify the role of compensation for victims in the process of reconciliation and appeasement of the social climate “, he exposed.

For Nandy Somé/ Diallo, Minister of Solidarity, Humanitarian Action, National Reconciliation, Gender and the Family, the particularity of this seminar comes down to its scientific nature. Listening to him, it will be a question of exploiting the results of the work already undertaken by capitalizing on the strong points.

As for the head of the seminar, Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla, he first recalled the factors undermining reconciliation and social cohesion. According to his explanations, these are essentially individual and collective frustrations. Furthermore, he indicated that for the time being, true reconciliation requires securing borders and the fight against insecurity.

« The prerequisite for social cohesion and for reconciliation is to allow the country to have secure borders and secure the populations. Afterwards, all the debates can begin. Let’s ask ourselves the real questions to find the real remedies », he launched. He then urged the participants to work in such a way as to come up with a roadmap that could take into account all the concerns and propose recommendations for the present and the future.
