Minister Seyyed Soulat Mortazavi, after transmitting the warm greetings of the highest authorities of Iran, expressed his enthusiasm for discovering Burkina Faso. The stay of Mr. Mortazavi and his delegation made it possible to sign several agreements in various areas with the authorities of Burkina Faso, all of which will further revitalize the Tehran-Ouagadougou axis. These are the areas of environment and natural resources, energy cooperation, town planning and construction, labor and social protection.
An agreement on higher education, research and innovation was signed in order to develop sustained cooperation in this area by allowing exchanges of students, teachers and researchers. The pharmaceutical industry is not left out. This will involve making Burkina Faso a pharmaceutical production hub in the sub-region.
Several other areas have also been the subject of agreements, namely scientific and technical cooperation, professional training, employment and entrepreneurship development.
To this long list is added in very good place, to make it complete, an important agreement on technical training, defense and security.

But Dr Kyelem from Tambela closes the loop to the satisfaction of the Iranian authority with the wish to see the Iranian airline serve Ouagadougou, in order to establish a direct air bridge between West Africa and Asia.
Another subject which was at the heart of the exchanges was that of international cooperation. The Prime Minister’s host denounced Western policy, indicating that his country cooperates with independent states around the world, particularly with Burkina Faso.
He reiterated Tehran’s commitment alongside Ouagadougou, especially in the fight against insecurity and the restoration of its sovereignty.
« For us, it is to work with sovereign countries like Burkina Faso. We are ready to transmit our experiences to your country and to deepen and/or broaden our relations to other areas thanks to this cooperation of equal consideration between Burkina Faso and Iran “, he added.
For his part, the Prime Minister, Dr Apollinaire Kyélem de Tambèla noted that the Charter of the United Nations is violated by Westerners, with regard to the international context.
In this regard, he said that during his visit to Venezuela in May 2023, Burkina Faso was invited to join the Friends of the United Nations Charter, which includes, among others, Cuba, Venezuela and Iran, with the aim of ensuring respect for the Charter of the United Nations, so that States are truly independent.
Dr Kyélem de Tambèla further affirmed that under the power of the President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso took its destiny towards the march of total liberation from the yoke of Westerners.
« We have always been under Western domination and that does not move us forward. We have decided to take our destiny into our own hands and strengthen our cooperative relations with friendly countries who want to respect us and who really want to help us. This is why, for a year in power, we have been working to strengthen our relations with Iran “, he argued.
