Where to find women and how to approach them? Why don’t women express themselves enough in the media? So many questions around which Mousso news raises the debate. According to Bassératou Kindo, initiator of the workshop and promoter of the Mousso news media, the objective is to present the problem of women speaking out in the media in order to identify solutions.

« We wanted to initiate this workshop to highlight women and journalists so that they could discuss why women rarely express themselves in the media. What are the difficulties they encounter, what are the obstacles so that together we can put our finger on the problem in order to find solutions? “, she emphasized.

With around thirty participants, women leaders and journalists combined, Bassératou Kindo says he hopes that at the end of the workshop, the situation will change so that women can open up more to the media.

Françoise Tougry, editor-in-chief of the media Queen mafa, gave a presentation on the difficulties that the media encounter with women when it comes to speaking out. For her, one of the reasons that prevent women from expressing themselves is lack of self-confidence. Added to this is the physical complex because some women feel that they are not beautiful enough to be displayed.

« I would like to invite women to train in public speaking. Don’t wait until you have a job before training because it’s very delicate. If you run a business, you are obliged to assert your leadership. You have to work with the media. Until you can have that confidence to express what you have to say to defend your opinions, you will remain in the shadows. And it’s not that we want ”, she offered as advice to women.

The communicators stressed that it is necessary to sensitize the media to apply gender policy and encourage the media to create sections run by women.
