Let’s go for the 6th edition of the African Musical Meetings (REMA). Starting this Thursday, October 19, 2023, experts and artists from more than 21 countries from various parts of the world will, through showcases, panels, speed meetings, and a major closing concert, showcase their talents. for the benefit of the resilience of the country of honest men. All with the same goal which is the promotion of the talent of artists, African cultural diversity and peace in Faso. And this until October 21, 2023.

« Artistic diversity and discoverability at the heart of musical creation”, this is the theme of the activities of this edition. These activities include 03 panels, showcases (09), and a major concert bringing together big names in international music including the famous Frenchman Youssoupha Mabiki and many other major Burkinabè and sub-regional stars (Smarty, Sissao, Safarel Obiang …).

For promoter Alif Naaba, one of the objectives of this meeting is to promote cultural diversity for the benefit of young talents. “ Through this major concert these artists will sing for the resilience of Burkina, to show that Burkina Faso is an exemplary country. So during these three days we will show the face of Burkina Faso which wants to achieve peace”said Alif Naaba.

This 6th edition is being held thanks to the support of several structures. These include the UNDP (Panels), the Brazilian Embassy (young talent prize), the EU (Our Voices for Peace) and the Goethe Institut. For UNDP deputy country representative Eloi Kouadio IV, music has the power to educate, to unite, so holding this meeting is appropriate.

« Burkina Faso has experienced considerable challenges in recent years. Music is therefore a means of expressing the resilience of this people. he added.

The minister in charge of culture, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo is the boss of these REMAs at least for this edition. It’s his turn to reaffirm the role that this event will play for the country.

« I am particularly happy to participate in the launch of this meeting which brings together major experts from the cultural and artistic industry. I remain convinced that the exchanges will allow us to improve the visibility of our artists”concluded the minister.

Beyond the promotion of cultural diversity, this meeting also intends to focus on the training and professionalization of actors according to the organizers. To this end, a football match is planned this afternoon in Ouagadougou, always in the spirit of living together.
