On May 30, 2023, a complaint was filed with the Territorial Gendarmerie Brigade of Ouagadougou by an individual (Zaksoaba, assumed name) against X for armed assault and theft of cash worth one hundred and seventy million (170,000,000) CFA francs. The facts occurred on the morning of May 5, 2023 at the victim’s home, located in sector no. 03 of the city of Ouagadougou. Mr. Zaksoaba states that he received an individual presenting himself as being from the National Police who then knocked him out using a hammer. The offender then stole a bag containing the money and fled.

An investigation was opened and the investigations led to the arrest of a suspicious person (Kader, assumed name) on October 18, 2023. This individual, while acknowledging the facts, said he acted with the complicity of Cyrille (name loan), who was in turn arrested 3 days later. The latter happens to be the victim’s driver. The two (02) presumed guilty are friends. The idea of the attack was born after the driver revealed to his friend that his boss had the habit of keeping large sums of money with him. Together, they decide to set up an operation to attack Mr. Zaksoaba at home and possibly steal money from him. May 5, 2023 is the date chosen to take action.

On D-Day, around 6:30 a.m., Kader was already in ambush near Zaksoaba’s home. At 7:00 a.m., as usual, Cyrille takes his boss’s daughter to school, accompanied by his boss’s wife. He discreetly informs his sidekick that Zaksoaba is alone at home. Kader then enters the home and finds Zaksoaba in the living room.

He introduces himself as an agent of the national police and is there to investigate an arms cache case in which he is allegedly involved. With that, he begins a search of the home. Arriving at a cupboard, he takes out a bag containing a large sum of money and questions his host about the origin of the funds. When the latter wanted to explain, Kader immediately took out a hammer and knocked him out with a violent blow to the head. Once his victim is on the ground, he escapes with the bag of money.

Bathed in blood, the victim still managed to contact her driver (Cyrille) who took her to the hospital for treatment.

On the evening of the events, the two (02) alleged offenders meet up and share the loot: Cyrille pocketed the sum of seventy-two million (72,000,000) CFA francs and the sum of ninety-eight million (98,000,000) CFA francs returned to Kader.
