Another well-known use for high-purity boron oxide, he said, is in the production of borosilicate glass, the insulating material between layers of semiconductor devices. Potassium permanganate (KMnO4, in common parlance these are crystals of potassium permanganate. – Vedomosti) and high-purity hydrogen peroxide are used in semiconductor purification processes, Sivolobov continued. But the applications of these chemicals are much broader, he noted.
