Tesla has nothing to worry about. In partnership with the Moscow Polytechnic Institute, the Russian manufacturer Avtotor presented its first electric car, reports the media RB.RUand the result is somewhat confusing.

If Russian automobile news is not in the habit of making people talk to the four corners of the world, the particular design of this new car, whose arrival on the roads is planned for 2025, has made it possible to make it known in the eyes of the general public, but not in the good sense of the word.

Indeed, the Avtotor Amber was greatly mocked on social networks by Internet users who did not fail to compare this new electric car to the Fiat Multiplia, a cult minivan mocked for its atypical design.

Cubic shape, absence of grille, very high bonnet, mini round headlights, small windows, voluminous rear worthy of a mini 4 x 4… so many details which make the Amber a unique model of its kind.

Still in testing phase

Very few technical characteristics of this new type of automobile have been revealed, but it is difficult to imagine this electric vehicle “with low autonomy and a level of comfort and safety in line with European standards”, estimates the specialist magazine. Car Plus. For the moment, the project is still in the testing phase and the appearance of the bodywork can therefore still change, which we have no doubt given the first comments.

Historically, the Avtotor factory was known for assembling European and Asian vehicles in Russia, producing models for brands such as BMW, Hyundai and Kia. But international sanctions linked to the war between Ukraine and Russia led to the cessation of activities at the Avtotor factory, paving the way for a new era for the Russian automobile industry.

The Russian manufacturer intends to make the Amber the “people’s car” by promising an attractive price and undoubtedly wishes to make it a source of national pride in a country weighed down by numerous international sanctions.
