The municipal authorities of Bobo-Dioulasso have once again thought of the elderly. They actually visited elderly people to celebrate the New Year. The said visit took place on the afternoon of Tuesday January 2, 2024 in the town of Sya and was led by the president of the special delegation of the commune (PDS), Laurent Kontogom, according to the Information Agency of Burkina (AIB).

In the first stopover, in Kuinima, old Siaka Sanou, over 97 years old and surrounded by his large family, welcomed the day’s visit. Siaka Sanou thanked the authorities for thinking of him. “I thank the authorities and I pray to God that peace returns to Faso,” he suggested in the columns of the AIB.
These same feelings of satisfaction were shared in the second family, where the old Tempoko Ouédraogo, aged 117, received the delegation among her sons and grandsons. According to the PDS, this visit is an administrative tradition of the town hall of Bobo-Dioulasso and has become a custom. “There is no question of us deviating from this established rule,” he said.
