Former Indian cricketer Joginder Sharma has found himself embroiled in a legal battle after being accused in a case of suicide in Haryana. The case involves the suicide of a young man named Pawan, who took his own life on January 1 following a property dispute. Joginder, who is now a DSP in Haryana, is one of the six accused in the case.

According to the complaint filed by the mother of the deceased, Joginder and the other accused had mentally tortured her son in connection to a property dispute, leading to his tragic death. The family even refused to accept the young man’s body and staged a sit-in protest demanding the arrest of the accused.

However, Joginder has vehemently denied the allegations, claiming that he does not know Pawan. The police have registered a case against Joginder Sharma, as well as hockey coach Rajendra Singh, Ajayveer, Ishwar Jajaria, Prem Khatti, and Arjun.

Joginder Sharma is known for his performance in the Twenty20 World Cup final in 2007, where he famously bowled the last over that led to India’s victory over Pakistan. After retiring from cricket, Joginder joined the police force. Nevertheless, this recent controversy has tainted the image of the former cricket star.
