The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center was established on May 13, 2015 at the behest of King Salman. It is the only Saudi agency responsible for delivering relief goods and aid abroad. The center works on the principles of transparency, impartiality and non-discrimination.
Since its inception, King Salman Relief Center has implemented 2,670 relief and charity projects in 95 countries around the world in collaboration with 175 regional and international partners, spending more than 600 crore Riyals. The King Salman Relief Center implements a mine clearance project, a project to supply prosthetic limbs to amputees, and a rehabilitation project for children recruited to the war front. So far, 582 free surgery projects have been implemented in 38 countries through the King Salman Relief Center. A total of over one and a half lakh operations have been conducted under these schemes.
