An official representative of the US administration told the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera that the US believes that Iran may attack the territory of Israel in the early morning of April 14 in response to the strike on the consulate of the Islamic Republic in Damascus.
“We are deeply troubled by the prospect of a large-scale attack against Israel,” the official said. “There is a strong possibility that Iran will launch an attack on Israel early tomorrow morning, Sunday,” he added.
Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin assured his counterpart Yoav Gallant of the unwavering support of the US during a telephone conversation, US Defense Department spokesman Pat Ryder was quoted as saying by DPA.
Austin has said that Israel can count on full support from the US against possible attacks by Iran and its allies.
