The response was expected. Israel launched an attack against Iran this Friday, April 19, in retaliation for Iranian strikes against its territory last weekend, indicated several media in the United States, such as ABC CBS and CNN, citing senior American officials, as well as several Iranian media.
Tehran reported three explosions near a military base in the Isfahan region, in the center of the country, reports the official Fars agency. Iran immediately activated its air defense in several provinces. Drones have been shot down, but there has been no missile attack “so far”, the Iranian authorities nevertheless indicate. And the nuclear installations based in the Isfahan region are “completely safe,” said the Tasnim agency.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirms that nuclear sites suffered no damage after the explosions this Friday morning. In a publication on The IAEA says it is monitoring the situation “very closely”.

“No large-scale explosions have been reported”
The official Iranian agency IRNA announced that “no major damage” had been reported after the explosions heard at dawn. “No damage or large-scale explosions have been reported,” she said, based on information reported by her journalists.
“Important installations, especially nuclear installations, are completely safe and no accidents have been reported there,” she also stressed.

The United States did not approve the response
Israel had warned it would retaliate after Iran fired hundreds of missiles and drones into Israeli territory over the weekend. Most of them had been intercepted. This attack came following a raid against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, blamed on Israel.
SAccording to the American television channels NBC and CNN, Washington had been warned by the Jewish state of its attack on Iran but neither approved the operation nor played a role in its execution, according to American officials.
