The Football Federation of Armenia intends to organize a farewell match for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a former player of the national team.

In a conversation with “Armenpress”, the FFA informed that the federation wants to organize a farewell match for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, one of the best footballers of all time in Armenia, but there is still no clarity regarding the dates.

On March 3, the captain of the national football team of Armenia, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, announced the end of his performances in the team. “My football beginnings were made in Armenia, my homeland, and I will forever be grateful to everyone who supported me, who coached and educated me, who I played with and finally everyone who contributed to my development as a football player and as a person. Good luck to my national team. Forever yours, Heno,” said Mkhitaryan’s statement.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is Armenia’s all-time best scorer. His debut in the national team took place in January 2007. Mkhitaryan played in the best European leagues. He was a football player of “Arsenal” and “Manchester United” (2016-2018). He scored a goal in the 2017 Europa League final for Manchester United, thereby becoming the first Armenian football player to win a major European trophy.
