The formal recognition of the Moroccan nature of the Sahara by Israel “supports the positive dynamics experienced by the southern provinces,” this imminent researcher told MAP.

It is also an important turning point which reinforces this dynamic initiated thanks to the insightful Vision of His Majesty the King, added Mr. Iguider, recalling the support given to the Sovereignty of the Kingdom over its southern provinces by several countries on different continents.

From an economic perspective, the researcher, also an expert in the management of international projects of an industrial and commercial nature, stressed that the recognition of the Moroccan nature of the Sahara by the State of Israel, a country at the forefront of technology and innovation, should open up broad development prospects in Morocco, whose southern provinces represent a platform towards the African continent.

The expert did not fail to underline the constant position of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, in favor of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, whom the Sovereign had elevated to the rank of of national cause.

The new development should better position Morocco to continue supporting the Palestinian issue, he said.

A press release from the Royal Cabinet announced, earlier today, that His Majesty King Mohammed VI received a letter from the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, Benyamin Netanyahu by which he brought to the Very High Attention of the Sovereign his country’s decision to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara.

In this regard, the Israeli Prime Minister indicated that this position of his country will be “reflected in all relevant acts and documents of the Israeli Government.” He further stressed that the said decision will be “transmitted to the United Nations, regional and international organizations of which Israel is a member, as well as to all countries with which Israel maintains diplomatic relations.”

In his letter to the Sovereign, the Israeli Prime Minister informed that Israel is positively examining “the opening of a Consulate in the city of Dakhla”, as part of the implementation of this state decision.
