Nobel laureate in chemistry Negishi dies

Japanese chemist Eiichi Negishi has passed away at the age of 85. This is reported by the website of Purdue University in Indiana, USA.

Eiichi Negishi was born in 1935 in Changchun, present-day China. Since the late 1960s, Negisi worked at US universities.

Negishi won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2010. Together with him, this honor was awarded to another Japanese researcher Akira Suzuki and the American scientist Richard Heck.

Scientists received the Nobel Prize for the development of new methods for the synthesis of complex organic compounds.
