## Activists Target Private Jet at Sylt Airport
Climate activists from the Last Generation organization are making their mark once again, this time at Sylt Airport.
Two demonstrators briefly attached themselves to the ground next to a private jet at the airport on Saturday morning. Their attempt to spray paint on the aircraft was thwarted by swift intervention from airport staff.
The activists had previously cut a hole in the airport fence to gain access. One individual was apprehended by police at the fence.
Firefighters positioned two large fire engines near the private jet to shield the scene from onlookers.
The Last Generation claimed responsibility for the action, aiming to spray the words “Oil kills” on the private jet. While the attempt was unsuccessful, a spokesperson emphasized their ongoing commitment to such protests.
Flight operations at Sylt Airport remained unaffected by the incident.
The activists believe wealthy individuals, such as owners of private jets, limousines, and superyachts, disproportionately contribute to climate change. They argue that legislation is necessary to reduce these emissions.
This action echoes a similar incident in June 2023, when five activists from the same group sprayed a private jet at Sylt Airport with orange paint and glued themselves to it.
