Support for Artsakh Continues in Europe
On January 27 and 28, various events are taking place in over 50 cities across 14 European countries as part of the “Europeans for Artsakh” platform’s initiative to support Artsakh. Armenians throughout Europe and numerous organizations are participating in these events to express their demands and appeal to their national governments and pan-European governing structures.
The National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh has issued messages to the event participants, stating:
“Everything that happened in Artsakh in 2020 and 2023… is the continuation of Turkish criminal programs dating back to the Ottoman Empire. The actions of subjecting the Armenian people to genocide were repeated today, with Azerbaijan taking a leading role.”
The message highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, where 120,000 Armenians were forced to flee their homes due to the conflict. It also accuses the Azerbaijani authorities of continuing their anti-Armenian policy.
The events in Europe are seen as a significant expression of support for Artsakh and a source of inspiration for the Armenian diaspora. The “Europeans for Artsakh” platform has united Armenians and organizations in Europe to raise awareness and advocate for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
The factions of the National Assembly express gratitude for the support shown by European organizations and call for international action to ensure the return of displaced people and the recognition of Artsakh’s independence.
