Chairman of the NA Defense and Security Affairs Committee Andranik Kocharyan does not see the need for the resignation of Defense Minister Suren Papikyan after the death of two officers in Vardenis.

As for who he sees as responsible for those incidents, Kocharyan said that the preliminary investigation will answer that question.

On the same day, at around 11:30, the body of senior lieutenant Mikael Samveli Danielyan was found with a gunshot wound in the guard station of the N military unit of the Ministry of Defense. According to the Investigative Committee, he committed suicide.
