Israel has the right to respond to Iran‘s attack“/>
The Group of Seven (G7) states believe that Israel has the right to respond to an attack by Iran, but this response must be proportionate.
As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, US President Joe Biden stated this to reporters after a telephone conversation with colleagues from other G7 countries.
“We will discuss with Israel what they will do,” he said. “But all seven of us agree that they have a right to respond. But their response must be proportionate,” Biden added.
On the evening of October 1, Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel in response to the killings of key individuals in the leadership of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces). Tehran said that 90% of the missiles successfully hit their intended targets, Israel claims that Iran launched about 180 missiles and most of them were intercepted.
The Israeli General Staff promised to “choose the time” and surprise with a response to the attack, and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned in Hebrew that the attacks on Israel would be even more widespread.
