“Not bilaterally without Russia and Ukraine”>Ukraine, no. Ukraine should have a say in the future of Ukraine,” the US vice president told CBS’ “60 Minutes” when asked if she would meet face-to-face with Russian dictator Putin to discuss ending the war.

US President Joe Biden‘s administration had previously rejected any talks with Putin.

Harris also once again criticized presidential candidate Donald Trump’s policy on Ukraine, calling it a “surrender” to a full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022.

Trump has criticized Washington’s military and financial support for Ukraine and insisted he would quickly reach a peace deal with Putin.

“Donald Trump, if he was president, Putin would be sitting in Kyiv right now. He’s talking about ending it (the war) in one day. You know what that is? It means surrender,” Harris said.

Kyiv fears that such a deal would mean giving back to Russia the territory in eastern Ukraine that Russia has seized since that invasion.

Harris also said she would address Ukraine’s bid to join NATO “if and when it comes to that.”
