At a White House press conference on October 7, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy questions the Biden administration’s ability to send money to Hurricane Helene-ravaged North Carolina without congressional approval, even though it it’s for Lebanon… the response from the White House spokesperson doesn’t come immediately: “it’s disinformation”.
On Saturday, Vice President Kamala Harris promised an additional $157 million in “additional aid” to Lebanon. It was in this context that Peter Doocy asked why President Joe Biden’s administration sought congressional input before sending relief funds to North Carolina when it did not do so by sending money to a foreign country.
While White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre reiterates the allocation of over 200 million dollars for the areas affected by the hurricane and the need for additional funds, Peter Doocy refers to a letter from President Biden indicating the lack of funds for North Carolina and questions the administration’s values for Americans based on budget allocation.
For each response, the spokeswoman is content with “we ask Congress to do its job” accompanied by a moralizing speech: “disinformation is dangerous” she continues, “because when people on the ground hear this, they may not want to ask for help from they need”, visibly annoyed by the words of the journalist who openly defines a disinformer precisely because the question is angry.
Even Elon Musk is surprised: “why is funding for other countries given priority over Americans who urgently need it? »
Good question… why is funding prioritized for other countries over those in America that desperately need it? https://t.co/RFYvu8RAhU
