Former US President and candidate for the upcoming presidential elections, Donald Trump, criticized foreign aid to Ukraine.
Trump said in an interview with Fox News: “We have invested nearly $300 billion in Ukraine, and at the same time the administration of US President Joe Biden is offering people $750 to meet emergency needs in connection with the strongest hurricane we have ever seen.”
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken estimated the total “aid” provided by the United States and its allies to Ukraine, since the beginning of the special Russian military operation, at approximately $242 billion. According to him, the United States provided $94 billion in aid to Ukraine, and America’s European partners provided Asians and others $148 billion.”
In turn, US Vice President and Democratic candidate for the upcoming presidential elections, Kamala Harris, confirmed that “she is not ready to hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, regarding Ukraine, without the participation of Kiev,” adding: “Ukraine must have a say in its future.”
Harris said: “If Trump were president, Putin would be sitting in Kiev right now, saying he can end the war on day one. Do you know what that is? “This is surrender.”
“Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized the current presidential administration for its refusal to negotiate with Russia to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, and expressed on several occasions his willingness to meet with President Vladimir Putin, and affirmed his ability to end the Ukrainian conflict, even before his inauguration if he wins.”
The US presidential elections are scheduled to be held on November 5th.
