Lavrov sends a message to Israel about its resort to assassinations

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov sent a message to Israel about its resort to political assassinations and its strikes in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria.

Lavrov said: “There is an attempt to drag Iran into military actions, and then drag the United States into a direct war in the Middle East against Iran.”

He added: “We always say, and our statements and positions are clear, that we are in favor of stopping any form of violence, and we condemn in principle any terrorist acts, as we announced after the attack on October 7 of last year.”

He said: “We condemn the actions that lead to collective and heinous punishment, which we see against the Palestinians, and alongside the Palestinians the Lebanese are also suffering, and there are strikes on Syrian and Iraqi lands as well, and there is also the principle of political assassinations being used, which is viewed negatively in international law.”

Lavrov added: “There is also something similar to what Zelensky is doing, who is trying to provoke the West to use its forces, without hiding them under the name of mercenaries, in order for them to start or get involved in a war with Russia.”

He added: “Without a doubt, there must be an immediate ceasefire, and humanitarian aid must be provided, but it is unacceptable to direct attacks against those who provide this humanitarian aid, as well as to ask the United Nations forces in Lebanon to move away from their locations because Israel wants to carry out strikes on the points they occupy.”
