WHILE, Waspada.co.id – North Sumatra Regional Police together with Harbor Police raided a dingdong type gambling location located in Kampung Kolam, Ward IX, Belawan Bahagia Village, Medan Belawan District.
from teh location of the raid, evidence was confiscated, totaling 36 ding dong gambling machines found in a house belonging to a fisherman named legiman (57) and 8 other machines found from an empty house.
Based on the inspection, the empty house was rented by Adi Warsitok (60), a resident of Taman Grand Permata Hijau, who is suspected of being the owner of the dingdong machine. Simultaneously occurring, Legiman admitted that he rented out his house for the last 12 months for IDR 300 thousand per month.
Head of Public relations of the North Sumatra Police, Police Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, emphasized that the raid was carried out as a form of commitment to the North Sumatra Police and its staff in eradicating gambling.
“Gambling activities like this not only violate the law, but also damage the morals and social order of society. “The police will continue to take firm action against all forms of gambling in the North Sumatra region,” he stressed, Thursday (5/12).
Hadi said that all the evidence and perpetrators who were arrested had been handed over to the Belawan Harbor Police for further legal proceedings. The police are also investigating the involvement of other parties in the gambling network to ensure similar practices do not occur again.
“We urge the public to actively report all forms of gambling activities or other violations of the law. “With close cooperation, the North Sumatra Regional Police are optimistic that they can create a safe and pleasant environment for all residents,” he hoped. (wool/lvz/d1)
