TORONTO, July 30, 2025 — Félix Auger-Aliassime’s most potent ally isn’t found on the court, but by his side. His fiancée, Nina Ghaibi, serves as his unwavering support system as the Canadian star prepares to compete at the National Bank Open Presented by Rogers.

  • They met when Auger-Aliassime was 18, and Ghaibi understands the demands of professional tennis.
  • Auger-Aliassime has experienced both title wins and early-round Grand Slam exits this year.

The whirlwind life of the ATP Tour, filled with constant travel, intense competition, and immense pressure, can be a solitary existence. For Félix Auger-Aliassime, the 24-year-old Canadian, that constant presence is his fiancée, Nina Ghaibi. She’ll be a familiar face in the stands, cheering him on in Toronto.

The couple met when Auger-Aliassime was just 18. Now, years later, she’s not only his love but his closest confidante, someone who truly grasps the unique pressures of being a professional athlete.

“Everyone’s different,” Auger-Aliassime told ATPTour.com last month. “For me personally, having Nina and having her by my side through this whole journey as a professional tennis player has meant a lot. I met her when I was 18 and she’s always been amazing when it comes to understanding what I have to go through.”

He added, “She supports me, listens and even gives me great advice, whether it’s about tennis or not. We really try to support each other in everything and at the same time, we’re best friends. It’s the best thing to have her in my life.”

This steadfast support is invaluable, especially navigating the sport’s inherent ups and downs. Auger-Aliassime has celebrated significant victories this year, including titles in Adelaide and Montpellier, and a final appearance in Dubai. However, he’s also faced early exits at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and Roland Garros. His season record stands at 26-16, according to the Infosys Win/Loss Index.

“Tennis results can be really up and down,” Auger-Aliassime reflected. “But having someone like her, or even my team, people who are consistently there for me, is huge. It’s great knowing that even when tennis is up and down, the people who matter most don’t come and go with the results. They stay and that stability makes all the difference.”

As a professional equestrian, Nina has her own demanding career. Since 2017, she’s competed globally, mirroring Auger-Aliassime’s travel schedule. Despite the geographical challenges, they’ve managed to maintain their connection by prioritizing time together whenever possible.

“She’s got her own career, so she’s busy too. But we try to see each other around every four weeks,” Auger-Aliassime shared. “Whenever I’m close by and have a couple of days off, I’ll go see her if I have a break or I’m playing a tournament nearby, in Germany, Belgium, or Holland. I try to go see her.”

Now, as the No. 28 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, Auger-Aliassime carries the hopes of Canadian tennis fans on home soil at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Toronto. While his best result in Toronto is the second round, he reached the quarterfinals in Montreal in 2022. He is scheduled to face Fabian Marozsan on Wednesday in the hard-court tournament.
