A prestigious recognition highlights the academic and athletic achievements of Austin Peay State University’s women’s soccer program, as three players – Lauryn Berry, Sophie Davidson, and Ellie Dreas – were named to the 2025 Academic All-District® team. The team is selected by College Sports Communicators and celebrates student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom.

The Academic All-District® award is a significant honor, acknowledging the dedication and hard work required to succeed at a high level in both academics and athletics. This year’s selection underscores Austin Peay’s commitment to fostering well-rounded student-athletes.
Lauryn Berry: A Defensive Force and Academic Achiever
Lauryn Berry, a junior hailing from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, anchored the Governors’ defense throughout the 2024 season. Berry led the ASUN Conference with an impressive 116 total saves, demonstrating her crucial role in preventing goals. Her average of 6.44 saves per game ranked second in the league and placed her among the top ten nationally, specifically 10th in the NCAA. Throughout her career with Austin Peay, Berry has accumulated 191 saves, currently ranking fourth all-time in program history.
Ellie Dreas: Senior Leadership and Consistent Performance
Ellie Dreas, a senior from Covington, Kentucky, provided consistent leadership and valuable minutes for the Governors. Dreas started all 18 matches during her final season, logging a total of 1,492 minutes on the pitch. Over her career, she amassed 6,084 minutes played, the eighth-highest total for any player in Austin Peay history. Dreas also led the team offensively with 31 shots and 16 shots on goal this season, showcasing her attacking prowess.
Sophie Davidson: Transfer Student Makes Immediate Impact
Sophie Davidson, a senior who joined the Governors in 2024 after transferring from George Mason University, quickly became a valuable asset to the team. The Fulton, Maryland native played 882 minutes during the season and recorded her first career assist as a Governor on October 5th against Central Arkansas. This pivotal assist helped the team secure its first ASUN Conference point of the season, marking a significant moment in their campaign.
