Team USA Curling Eyes Gold at Milan Cortina Olympics wiht New Leadership

A new generation of American curlers, led by 24-year-old Danny Casper, is aiming to replicate the historic gold medal win achieved at the 2018 Pyeongchang games. The United States men’s curling team begins its quest for Olympic glory at the Milan Cortina Games, hoping to add to their single previous gold in the sport.
A New Era for US Curling
Danny Casper, of Westchester, New York, now leads Team USA after defeating the reigning Olympic champions, Team Shuster, at the U.S.Olympic Curling Trials. John Shuster, the 2018 gold medalist, has competed in five consecutive Olympics.
Team Members-Casper’s team includes Luc Violette, Ben Richardson, Aidan Oldenburg, and alternate Rich Ruohonen. Casper’s family has Olympic ties; his great aunt Carla Casper competed in 1988, and his father introduced him to the sport at age 12.

Curling began Feb. 4 and continues through Feb. 22. The U.S. men’s round robin begins Feb. 11, with semifinals Feb. 19.
