Saber Interactive Revives the Stunt Driving Genre with Universal Franchises
The cult classic stunt-driving franchise is making its return. Stuntman: Hollywood is the first entry in the movie-inspired driving franchise since 2007’s Stuntman Ignition. While the original was developed by Reflections Interactive (the team behind the Driver series) and the sequel was helmed by Paradigm Entertainment, the series is now in the hands of Saber Interactive. The upcoming Stuntman: Hollywood injects arcade racing with heavy doses of Hollywood action, tasking players with executing precise vehicular maneuvers across famous movie sets.
The new revival leans heavily on recognizable intellectual properties from Universal Pictures and NBCUniversal. Players will get behind the wheel of classic television and film icons, chaining together drifts, jumps, and near-misses as chaos erupts on screen. The single-player action-racing game puts you in the driver’s seat for thrilling cinematic stunts inspired by fan-favorite films and television series, letting players rise through the ranks to become Hollywood’s most in-demand stunt performer, unlocking new challenges, vehicles, and increasingly ambitious set pieces.
Jurassic World Set Pieces and Action Sequences Revealed
A fresh trailer showcased during Xbox’s second Gamescom presentation (also referred to as today’s Xbox Gamescom Broadcast) officially added Jurassic World to the game’s lineup, developed in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences and Amblin Entertainment. The footage blends cinematic and gameplay elements, dropping players straight into familiar jungle terrain from the modern film series born out of Jurassic Park.
The newly unveiled stages feature high-stakes driving scenarios inspired by blockbuster moments. Players will navigate an off-road park jeep through a dense forest while avoiding falling rocks and escaping a volcanic eruption from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, all while avoiding a toothy demise and dodging dinosaurs. In one sequence, a motorcycle rider speeds alongside a pack of raptors in a forest à la the first Jurassic World, while another bombastic sequence features a dirt bike escaping an erupting volcano while being chased by dinosaurs, alongside backflipping a motorcycle over the gaping maw of an angry T. rex.
A Star-Studded Garage of Movie and Television Icons
Jurassic World joins a crowded roster of licensed entertainment franchises featured in the game. According to the promotional materials, players can also take control of vehicles from The Fast and the Furious (or Fast & Furious), Back to the Future, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, and Death Race.
The vehicle lineup includes famous machines such as K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider and the Time Machine from Back to the Future, alongside a roster of high-speed supercars, muscle cars, and agile motorcycles built for precision, speed, and spectacle. The final game puts you behind the wheel of some iconic vehicles and has you recreating some famous scenes, but it’ll also have some originals to play through too as you experience the power, precision, and spectacle of a range of classic movie and television vehicles.
Platforms and Release Outlook
First revealed during June’s PlayStation State of Play and later shown during Xbox’s presentations, Stuntman: Hollywood doesn’t have a release date or release window yet. Fans of arcade racers—harking back to the era of games like Split/Second and Blur—can wishlist the title on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S as development continues.
