Following the destruction of its state-of-the-art robotic fulfillment center in Svytropetrivske by a Russian attack on the night of August 28, Nova Poshta is decentralizing its operations. The company announced it will convert cargo and postal branches nationwide into local storage sites to protect client shipments.
Nova Poshta is fundamentally overhauling how it handles customer inventory across Ukraine. The logistics operator disclosed the operational shift after a wave of attacks struck its critical infrastructure, forcing the company to abandon its heavy reliance on centralized mega-facilities in favor of distributed regional holding points.
The Destruction of the Svytropetrivske Facility
The catalyst for the swift logistical pivot came in the night before August 28, when enemy strikes obliterated a fulfillment center and sorting depot in Svytropetrivske, Kyiv Oblast. Executives described the site as the company’s most advanced robotic hub, built over years using top-tier engineering solutions.
Thousands of copies of world bestsellers and works by Ukrainian authors published by houses such as A-BA-BA-GA-LA-MA-GA, Vivat, and Osnovy vanished in the flames. Yevhen Tafiichuk emphasized that the human and cultural blow hit the company’s partners especially hard.

Decentralizing the National Logistics Network
To safeguard against future losses, Nova Poshta is transforming its postal and cargo branches throughout the country into localized warehouses. Instead of concentrating a business’s entire inventory in one vulnerable facility, the company will spread client assortments across multiple smaller regional spots.
By shifting to a decentralized model, a single missile or drone hit can no longer wipe out an entire inventory database or a merchant’s entire stock. If one local branch sustains damage, the remaining distribution points allow businesses to keep fulfilling orders without catastrophic interruption.

Compensating Publishing Partners and Rebuilding Stocks
Beyond structural changes, Nova Poshta has opened direct dialogue with every affected publisher and bookstore to assess individual losses and establish tailored compensation mechanisms. The company committed to covering the financial damage incurred by partners and actively assisting them in printing new editions to replace destroyed inventory.
The wider logistics sector faces compounding wartime pressures. The late August strikes also hit distribution and warehouse facilities belonging to Comfy, Roshen, Fora, the Children’s Toy House, and Aurora across the Kyiv region, where air raid alerts kept emergency services dodging repeated secondary fire during rescue operations.
Maintaining Operations Amid Sustained Aerial Pressure
The infrastructure strikes formed part of a broader, sustained aerial campaign across Ukraine that targeted regional centers in Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kyiv. In Sumy, four guided aerial bombs heavily damaged a separate company terminal and three delivery trucks.
Despite the accumulating damage, Nova Poshta’s tracking app and delivery networks remain active. Company representatives confirmed that full declared values for damaged shipments will be reimbursed as damage assessments continue across all targeted sites.
