by time news

Moscow and Minsk are not yet discussing the issue of creating a single currency within the Union State, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov. The same, he said, concerns the union parliament – a Kremlin spokesman called this issue possible under the appropriate circumstances.

“This is out of the question so far. Yesterday, in particular, two presidents spoke about this ”, – answered Mr. Peskov when asked when a single currency for the two countries may appear. Now such prospects “are not visible,” he added.

Also, “while … there is no talk” about the creation of a union parliament, inform Dmitry Peskov. “This is a long-term question and such an eventual question,” the press secretary of the Russian president said.

Earlier, Mr. Putin said that the creation of a union parliament of Russia and Belarus is not ruled out in the future, but so far this issue has not been discussed. He made this statement following the results of negotiations with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.

The talks between Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko took place on September 9 in the Kremlin. They lasted about three and a half hours. Mr Putin said following the meeting that the parties had agreed on all 28 integration programs within the framework of the Union State. In addition, they agreed to keep Russian gas prices in 2022 at the 2021 level.
