Producer Aditya Chopra has claimed that actor Akshay Kumar was responsible for the box office failure of Bollywood film Samrat Prithviraj. The director of the movie Chandraprakash Divedi has come up with a response after this. The director said that this is the first time an actor has used a mustache and the producers have not blamed actor Akshay Kumar for the failure of Samrat Prithviraj. ⁇
Aditya never said this. This is the first time an actor has used a neem mustache. On June 2, Aditya and Aksha and I were together and Aditya had told me that he was very happy with the film. I gave him what Aditya wanted. He would never say I failed at it. The same goes for Akshay. Chandraprakash Divedi clarified.
Prithviraj was released on June 3 at Samrat Theater. With a budget of Rs 300 crore, the film grossed just Rs 86 crore at the box office. Many shows of the film were stopped due to non-entry of people into the theater. It was alleged that Akshay Kumar’s salary and VFX were the reason for the increase in the film’s budget.
