Five Nobel laureates will perform at the Science Festival – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

All-Russian festival NAUKA 0+ in Moscow is one of the main events of the Year of Science and Technology in Russia. It takes place annually from October to November in 80 regions of the country at more than 400 venues.

The festival will open on October 8. This year, lectures will be given by five Nobel laureates, whose research has become classics of world science. These are the creator of “supramolecular chemistry” from France Jean-Marie Lehn, expert of the IPCC intergovernmental group on climate change from South Korea, Rae Kwon Chung, American molecular biologist Sidney Altman, professor at the University of Tokyo Takaaki Kajita, who received an award for the discovery of neutrino oscillations.

In addition, authoritative foreign scientists from all continents, the best researchers from Russia, laureates of state awards, young scientists will tell about the latest achievements of science. The largest popular science exhibitions and lectures on October 9 and 10 will be held at the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Expocentre Fairgrounds on Krasnaya Presnya, Zaryadye Park, the Russian Academy of Sciences, at the thematic sites of the Year of Science and Technology (NUST MISIS, D.I. Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”, Yandex, NRU HSE), in more than 90 universities, museums and research centers, as well as in 80 regions of the country.

The festival program includes interactive popular science exhibitions, virtual laboratory, fascinating science shows, discussions about the future of humanity, screenings of science films, robot competitions, science fights, quizzes and quests and much more.

Leading Russian technology companies will showcase their latest developments, revealing in detail each of the topics of the Year of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation. It will be possible to get acquainted with outer space on Earth and learn how spaceships are created and how cosmonauts are trained at Roscosmos enterprises; environmental topics will be discussed at the exposition and lectures of the En + Group, about the nuclear industry – at the stands and excursions of the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom”.
