The press meet of ‘Trigger’ directed by Sam Anton and starring Atharva, Arunpandian and Tanya Ravichandran was held in Chennai this evening.
The film crew Atharva, Arunpandian, Chinni Jayant, Director Sam Anton, Producer Shruti Nallappa, Pradeep Chakraborty attended the event. The press meet was held today as this film is going to release on 23rd.
Shruti Nallappa said, “This is our third Tamil film. After ‘Lakshmi’ and ‘Mara’, ‘Trigger’ is the support we got for our first two films. We want to do more Tamil films. Sam Anton has a script by Suresh Chandra.” I knew. I met him the next day. I like his film ‘100’. He told the story of ‘Trigger’ that it would be twice as good as that.
There is a message in the film, not just action, the story is not just action. So I did OK on the first day of hearing the story. Within a week, Atharva’s performance was also finalized. Sam can finish the film very quickly. That too he will take 100 percent what is on the paper as it is. Atharva is the son of Murali sir who can get along without any bond. He has been very cooperative for this film,” he said.
Chinni Jayant said, “In my 38 years of cinema experience, I have done some good films. One of them was ‘Trigger’. The experience of acting in it was like acting in an English film. We shot a lot of it at night. It started at 6 in the evening and ended at 8 in the morning. Generally, night shoots are for the actors. I didn’t like it. But we had a lot of fun in it. Sam created such an atmosphere. Sam is a combination of Shankar and KS Ravikumar.
I have acted in 22 films with Atharva’s father Murali. This is the first film with Atharva. Vijayakanth and Arjun are the main two actors in fight scenes in cinema. After that, Atharva does a great job in the fight scene. Atharva should be called a junior captain.
Before I knew Arun Pandiyan as a filmmaker, I knew Pachaiyappas as a college student. Then everyone will call him Amitabh Bachchan. Buy him a body like that. I also co-starred in his first film Urkuruvi. Now it’s a pleasure to act with him again,” he said.
Actor Arun Pandian said, “Chinni Jayant has been traveling in cinema for 38 years. For 40 years I have been holding the hand of cinema. I have been involved in cinema in some way. After 16 years I acted with my daughter in the film ‘Anbirkiniyal’. As if Sam had seen the film. He came to tell a story. When I got to know the nature of my character, I asked him if he had told this to the hero. He said he knew. Usually one does not think that co-stars should be important in a hero film.
But Atharva is an actor who thinks everyone should get importance. Director Sam planned the night shoot of the film well. After watching ‘100’ the last 20 minutes were so good, I asked why it wasn’t in the whole movie. He said that he has done it in this film. Generally, the films I have acted in are very few in which I am paid full salary. But the producer of this film has paid the salary that he talked about. If this film is a success, many more people will get full salary through them, best wishes,” he said.
Sam Anton said, “It has been seven years since I made my debut as a director. I have directed five films. You have supported all the films. It was through Suresh Chandra sir that Shruti was introduced to the producer and this film opportunity came. When I first met Shruti, she is a very soft person, but I was confused whether she would like an action story. But he agreed to produce the story after 15 minutes. He asked a question that no producer asks during the shooting. ‘Sam, shoot for four days. Do you take a two-day break and sleep?’ He said. No producer has ever asked me like this. When the shoot started, my help was afraid that the producer was going to be there throughout the shoot. But his presence was very supportive for us. The producer gave more than what was asked.
After writing this story to Atharva, I told him. He immediately agreed to act. My previous film ‘100’ with Atharva was released late and was not noticed properly. But after the OTD release they appreciated it. So we wanted to do something bigger than ‘100’ after this. The film came out just like that. Atharva’s collaboration is huge for this film. Atharva was unwell during the last three days of the shoot. But he came and acted in the fight scene.
Before I met Arun Pandian sir I thought he was terror. But he got comfortable within 10 minutes of meeting. He asked if he wanted to tell a new story. I said no, it’s a fruit but I will cheat and sell it to you. He had a lot of fun with us during the shoot too,” he said.
Atharva said, “Sam and I did ‘100’. It was a good film. Now ‘Trigger’ is going to get a bigger name than that. The last day and the last day of shooting is always a battleground. But from start to finish this film went smoothly. Sam. He listened to everyone’s opinions for the story of the film and has hope to make a good film.
I have seen Arun Pandian sir in films. He quickly gelled. There was a scene in the last 20 minutes of the film where he had scope to act. He has played it very well. I have seen Chinni Jayant sir in shooting when he acted with Abba. Now I met again while making this film. I am happy to have acted with him,” he said.
