Originally scheduled for December of last year, when it had to be suspended due to weather conditions, the Behíque event in its 16th edition will take place on February 2 and 3 at its usual venue at the Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura, in Old Havana.

Organized by the DIALfa project, the Hispanic American Center itself and several collaborating institutions, BehÃque has been gaining a space as the Cuban cultural convention of fantasy and science fiction, two genres that, although they are not benefited by the broad promotional circuits, they do have a loyal audience that vehemently demands this type of forums.

According to the organizers of the event, an extensive program of activities will take place for two days that includes conferences, talks, book presentations from the publishers Gente Nueva and Aldabón, project performances, crafts and crafts exhibitions, all linked to the dream world.

The scarce bibliography of the fantasy genre that is currently translated into Spanish, the challenges of a Cuban enterprise dedicated to promoting board games and the vicissitudes faced by a Havana literary workshop specialized in science fiction are among the topics to be debated in the theoretical sessions of the event, where the Mabuya 2023 contest will also be awarded, organized in the categories of Story, Comics and Illustration.

Annually, aimed at young people and adults, the Behíque colloquium has become a prestigious forum that brings together writers, artists, promoters, fans and lovers of fantastic literature, comics and Cuban illustration.
