The Presidium of the Government Commission on Digital Development approved a new development competence center (DCC) for the development of Russian system-wide and application software “Unmanned Aircraft Systems” (UAS). The document was signed in the summer, but active work on the center began a month ago, a source in the specialized association told Vedomosti and was confirmed by an interlocutor from among the developers. The UAS Center for Research and Development will analyze the missing software solutions for drones and replace foreign solutions with the participants’ own funds.
The UAS Center for Research and Development was created on the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Development to consolidate the needs of market participants and examine the initiatives and activities of the national project on drones in terms of digital platforms, said a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The department participates in the work of the Center for Development and Coordination and coordinates with it projects of activities aimed at creating an integrated digital space for UAS, he added.
