A man was slightly injured in the collapse of a crane last night (Tuesday) at the pier at the Rotenberg power plant in Ashkelon, apparently as a result of the heavy rains that fell in the area in the last few minutes. The security forces are working to locate another missing person, with whom contact has been lost and who is still in the water.
The Electric Company stated: “Due to unusual weather and strong winds, the coal pier at the Rotenberg power plant in Ashkelon was damaged, when one of the cranes collapsed and there are fears of casualties. The Electric Company teams, the rescue forces, the police and the navy are on the scene. The Electric Company will form a team to investigate the incident.”
