The Pope invites everyone to celebrate together the Day for Grandparents and the Elderly.

Pope Francis’ invitation is contained in a linked Twitter message on Saturday (23/07/22), the eve of this year’s twenty-fourth (24/07/22) observance of the fourth Sunday of July each year.

Here’s what Papa wrote on Twitter with the hashtag “Grandparents&Elderly” (#Grandparents&Elderly):

“The Day for Grandparents and the Elderly is an opportunity to joyfully proclaim once again that the Church desires to celebrate with those who, as the Lord, as the Bible says, are “filled with days”. Let’s do it together.”

In connection with this day, the Pope posted another message on Saturday with the hashtag “Grandparents&Elderly”. In it the Pope says:

“Dear grandparents and elderly people, we are called to be architects of the revolution of tenderness! We can do this by learning to make better use of the most precious tool we have: prayer. Our prayer with confidence can do much!”

With more than 40 million Twitter followers in different languages, Papa’s Twitter messages are available in 9 languages: Standard, Arabic, Latin, German, Italian, English, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, French.
