Following an attack on Friday, September 1, 2023 against a VDP position in the vicinity of Silmiougou, a unit composed of elements of the Grouping of Mobile Intervention Units (GUMI), Mobile Intervention Unit (UMI) of the National Police and VDP deployed to reinforce the attacked VDP group.
What’s next after this ad
The attackers had to retreat in the face of the firepower of the units which managed to neutralize a dozen terrorists. Weapons and vehicles were also seized.
A policeman and 04 VDP unfortunately lost their lives during the fighting.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces bows to the memory of the fighters who fell for the Fatherland. He congratulates the elements for their spirit of sacrifice and urges them to maintain the momentum of reconquest of the territory in progress.
