A huge jump in the number of passengers at the airport

Dubai Airports Corporation said on Tuesday that Dubai International Airport handled 18.5 million passengers during the third quarter of 2022. This is the first time that the number of passengers in a three-month period has reached pre-pandemic levels. It will be mentioned that approximately 17.8 million passengers passed through the Dubai airport during the first quarter of 2020, i.e. the last quarter before the restrictions were imposed.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said in a statement published by the Government Information Office of Dubai, that the number of passengers during the third quarter of the year recorded an impressive performance and a constant increase in passenger traffic, far exceeding the expectations of the company’s management. According to the data provided, Dubai International Airport handled 46,340,826 passengers from January to September this year, an increase of 167.9% on an annual basis.

The company confirmed that the number of flights at Dubai Airport during the third quarter of the year amounted to 98,577, which brought the total number of flights from January to September this year to 274,911 – a jump of 159.5% on an annual basis.
