The popular jazz club Duc des Lombards in Paris hosted the next musical marathon of Azerbaijani jazz mugham called Elektro/Oriental Mugham, performed by the laureate of international competitions, composer, pianist and jazzman Etibar Asadli, Day.Az reported in the Association Dialogue France-Azerbaïdjan (Association dialogue France – Azerbaijan, ADFA).

The concert programs were met with great interest. Even before the start, a large line formed in front of the ticket office.

From 19.30 to 22.30, the musician gave three concerts, presenting compositions from the new album “Mugham”, which included traditional Azerbaijani compositions with jazz rhythms. The new album reveals all the beauty of the synthesis of mugham and jazz, the harmony of East and West, their unity in music. The works were performed accompanied by Ranto Rakotomalala (Madagascar, bass guitar), Martin Vangerme (France, drums). The special guest of the evening was the famous French saxophonist Benjamin Petit. The culmination of the evening was the performance of a composition from the operetta of the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli “Arshin Mal Alan”.

Note that 32-year-old Etibar Asadli was born in Baku. Graduate of the music school named after Bulbul, the composition department of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli. In 2015, he moved to Paris, where he studied jazz at the Center des Musique Didier Lockvood, becoming the first Azerbaijani to graduate from this academy. He has performed at jazz festivals in Azerbaijan, the USA, Great Britain, Austria, Russia, Switzerland, France, Turkey, Ukraine, Bulgaria, China, South Korea and other countries.
