The Public Prosecution announced the arrest of a member of a gang involved in drug smuggling into the country for about 24 years.
According to a statement by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the beginning of the incident was when the Office’s Judicial Control Affairs Controller received a report about the formation’s activity in transporting drugs in several cities. The officers of the Land Border Control Department – Nalut, with the support of the Office’s Information and Communications Affairs Control Department, were able to catch the accused red-handed in transporting 150,000 tablets containing “pregabalin.”
During the interrogation of the detainee, it was proven that he was involved in the formation of transporting hundreds of kilograms of hashish and hundreds of thousands of narcotic pills over the years.
Based on the investigations, the investigator decided to detain the accused in pretrial detention, and to take measures aimed at identifying those who participated with him in committing these crimes and prosecuting them.
