A high-level Egyptian source reported positive progress in the truce negotiations in the Gaza Strip, amid intense Egyptian contacts with all parties.

Egyptian officials at several levels held meetings that experts considered an attempt to rally an international position that supports efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

According to Sky News, a delegation from the Hamas movement arrived in Cairo at the beginning of the week, according to what a high-ranking Egyptian source said.

On the other hand, a responsible Palestinian source revealed to “Sky News Arabia” that the paper drafted by the Arab Six Party includes a 4-stage road map leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The source added that these efforts aim to reach an agreement by which the Palestinians will bypass the Oslo Accords, before reaching the final stage.

According to the Palestinian source, the road map consists of 4 stages:

Restoring the Palestinian Authority’s rule in Gaza.

– Develop a plan to reform the Palestinian Authority’s agencies, including restructuring the security services.

Launching negotiations on final status issues such as Jerusalem, borders, refugees and water.

The declaration of the independence of Palestine, followed by normalization between Israel and the Arab countries.

The Palestinian source confirmed that Saudi Arabia asked US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Riyadh to provide real guarantees for the establishment of a Palestinian state, but he did not give an answer to the Arab paper and expressed objection to unilateral recognition of the Palestinian state.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Israel yesterday, Wednesday, to hold meetings with Israeli leaders, and the visit is the seventh that Blinken has made since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas last October.

After about 7 months of Israeli bombing, more than 34,000 Palestinians were killed, according to local health officials, tens of thousands were injured and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip was destroyed.
