Sexual harassment in the world in the entertainment industry in general and in the fashion industry in particular, is nothing new. Now the journalist published Eran Soysa that the owner of one of the well-known modeling agencies in Paris was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting and harassing models, including the Israeli model Barak Shamir. The successful model traveled and returned several times this year to Paris in order to be photographed for various campaigns.
According to Suissa’s publication, the owner of the modeling agency summoned models to auditions for one of the major brands, apparently, and when they arrived at his house he asked them to photograph them fully naked, claiming that this was the client’s request. After they undressed and took pictures, they were sexually assaulted, according to some of them. Shamir was also asked to pose naked, but was not sexually assaulted by the agent. The French agent was arrested and interrogated and the agency’s activities were suspended.
Omri Yaari, Barak Shamir’s agent in Israel, said that “the investigation is underway and under a gag order and as soon as we can provide details, we will.”
